It’s Diego’s inaugural run as coach against the most despised Brazilians, and with tickets now on sale (Wednesday, not Thursday, as reported Monday) security is left quite literally holding back the masses. It’s like the Backstreet Boys circa 1998 (including the fat guy in charge). So let’s ask: which team will these fine fans see come out the victors? Who will win?(survey software)

September 2009 FIFA World Rankings Posted: 02 Sep 2009 07:59 AM PDT The best part of the monthly rankings release is looking at the change in ratings for particular teams and wondering, “what the hell did they do to deserve that?”. The answer is almost always “absolutely nothing”, which is wonderful. Take for instance defending champions Italy, whose nil-nil friendly draw with Switzerland was apparently enough of a showing to vault them above Germany to 4th in this month’s rankings.
