Peru Players Give Ref the Andy D’Urso Treatment Posted: 30 Dec 2008 07:10 AM PST This is from a recent friendly between the Peruvian national team and Extremadura. Which is techinally a Spanish football team, but Extremadura is also an autonomous community, so this was also sort of an international. I think. Anyway, Peru led 2-1 with the final whistle approaching, until the ref awarded Extremadura a spot-kick. No worries though, because it’s only a friendly. Right? Wrong. The Peruvians felt differently and gave the poor ref the full Andy D’Urso vs Man Utd treatment. He did some pretty nifty back-pedalling but refused to change his mind. They never do, do they?
