Important security notification regarding your Coverleaf.com account

Texterity and Coverleaf Texterity and Coverleaf

Dear Reader,

On Friday, 6/3/2011, Texterity engineers discovered a partial compromise of the Coverleaf.com database. The compromise, which appears to have started on May 18th, does not affect financial transactions but focuses on Coverleaf account set-up information. Because we understand how crucially important security is in this day and age, we wanted to inform you of the situation as quickly as possible.

This was a sophisticated, well thought-out attack on our system. We stopped the attack as soon as it was detected; however, some of your information was compromised before this was stopped.

Coverleaf information that was compromised:

  • Email address
  • Encrypted password
  • Coverleaf account creation time

Coverleaf.com does not store credit card information of any kind; therefore, no credit card information was at risk on the Coverleaf.com site.

We strongly encourage you to change your password on Coverleaf.com. If you use that same password on any other sites, we highly recommend you change those passwords as well.

Please note: Coverleaf.com, and its parent company, Texterity, Inc., will never send emails to you asking you to provide any additional personal information. If you receive an email like this, you should consider it suspicious and not respond to it.

To prevent future breaches, we are actively reviewing all portions of the Coverleaf.com site to ensure their security. Texterity remains committed to excellence in service to our publishers and readers. We are very deeply sorry for this breach of your trust.

Sincerely,

Carl Scholz
