CAN QuarterFinal Liveblog: Angola vs. Ghana Posted: 23 Jan 2010 10:43 PM PST
Today I’ll be handling Angola vs. Ghana, and Rob will be covering Cote d’Ivoire vs Algeria at 8:30pm Angola time (8:30 pm CET, 7:30pm UK, 2:30 Eastern US, 1:30 Central US, 11:30am, Pacific US.) Please stop in and keep us company! The big question for this match: Will a Ghana without the injured Michael Essien be able to overcome the home advantage that propelled the Angolan team to top of group A in the group stage? Interesting news of the weekend: Ghana is claiming “disgraceful intimidatory tactics” on the part of Angolan security. (Remember in the group stages, when Angola’s fellow group A teams Malawi and Mali had “scheduling difficulties” that left them unable to get training time before matches? But I’m sure this is all coincidence.)
